SCCAD Squad Tryout

Start Date: August 9th and 12th, 2024

Location: SCCAD UHQ

SCCAD is hosting a county-wide fitness competition September 21st. We will be pitted against other agencies in the county with all proceeds benefiting Backstoppers. With bragging rights up for grabs, we should expect tough competition from our Fire and law enforcement friends. This tryout challenge will push you and give you an opportunity to represent SCCAD, while benefiting a great cause.

We are looking for our top 10 competitors to fill two teams of five. This timed tryout will have an average time of less than 20 minutes and can be performed by participants of all fitness levels. Expect to perform bodyweight exercises, run, carry and move weights. The ten challengers who finish the quickest will receive a spot on one of the SCCAD squads and have their entry fee for the competition covered.

The first 20 people to schedule a time will receive a $30 amazon gift card!

 

Spring 2024 Activity Challenge

Start Date: April 15, 2024

End Date: May 27, 2024

Perform any activity you like and track your workout. Swim, lift weights, run, play tennis, climb a mountain. Do whatever workout you love to do and track it with your smart watch or phone’s health app. You can submit one activity per day which will give you an entry into one of three prize categories. Workout 15 minutes to receive an entry into the bronze tier prize category, workout 30 minutes for silver tier, and workout 45 minutes to receive an entry for the gold tier prize.

All activities must be tracked using a wearable device, or cell phone health app. There will be no log book for this challenge as all activities will be tracked with your phone’s health app or wearable fitness tracker. Take a screenshot of your workout each day and drop it into a folder to be submitted at the end of the challenge.

Gift cards will be awarded to the drawn winners of each prize tier.

 

February 2024 Activity Challenge

Visa gift cards will be awarded to the top 8 finishers and additional prizes will be awarded at random for completion.

 

February 2023 Total Steps Challenge

A month long challenge where participants track their steps throughout the day, and add them together for a total score at the end of the challenge. Gift card prizes will be awarded to the top 8 individuals with the most total steps taken during the 30 day challenge.

All steps must be tracked using a wearable device, pedometer or cell phone health app. There will be no log book for this challenge as all steps will be tracked with your phone’s health app or wearable fitness tracker.

Visa gift cards will be awarded to the top 8 finishers and additional prizes will be awarded at random for completion.

February 2023 Team Weight Lifting Challenge

For this challenge, you will pick one teammate to join you and test your strength. This is a 20 minute timed challenge where you and your team will lift as much cumulative weight as possible. The challenge will consist of 6 exercises which can be performed with any weight, in any order, and as many times as the participants choose. Evaluators will add the weight lifted as each rep is performed, and both team member’s total lifted weight will be added together, at the end of the 20 minutes. The team with the most weight lifted at the end of the challenge will win. There will be a winner awarded for each of the following brackets: Male/Male, Male/Female, and Female/Female. The winners of each team bracket will win Visa gift cards and additional prizes will be given out at random for participation. The exercises that can be performed are as follows: Bench Press, Squat, Dead Lift, Bent Over Row, Military Press, and Bicep Curls. These exercises can be performed with either barbells or dumbbells, whichever the participant prefers. Each team will compete one time on one of the following dates: Feb 28th (B-Shift Off Going), March 2nd (C-Shift Off Going), or March 4th (A-Shift Off Going). February 2024 Challenge

Our first challenge of 2024 focuses not on total, distance or time, but rather on establishing a regular wellness routine! Through out the month of February (1st-29th), participants will track the number of days they complete 30 minutes of fitness activity. Activities can vary from running, walking, biking or anything that gets you moving. Eight finishers will be awarded gift cards.

The mores days that are completed will translate into more entries for the prize drawings.

10 Days - 1 entries

15 Days- 2 entries

20+ Days - 3 entries

The Fine Print:

  • Must register by January 31st

  • Daily activity goal must be set to 30 minutes

  • Activities must be tracked with an approved fitness tracker ( Apple Watch, FitBit, Galaxy watch, etc.)

  • An image of your completed February overview must be submitted by February 29th.

  • Limit one prize per person

A reminder email will be sent out on February 26th to all participants. This will include details about the submission process.
