August 2023 Steps for a Cause Challenge

A month long team challenge where participants track their steps throughout the day, and add them together for a total score at the end of the challenge. Teams will be divided based on shift, with the proceeds going to the following recipients, A-Shift: Mike Baisch B-Shift: Taylor Bookout C=Shift: Karen Oneil. Office and Surge staff will be randomly placed onto teams to maintain an even number of participants on each team. There will be a $20 buy-in to each participate and those proceeds will also be going to the person above from their shift.

All steps must be tracked using a wearable device, pedometer or cell phone health app.

The shifts/team will compete with one another to win the following cash prizes for their friend in need.

1st Place: $2500 2nd Place: $1500 3rd Place: $1000

 

Summer 2023 Team Distance Challenge

A six week long challenge where participants pick a teammate and cover as much distance as possible. Run, walk, cycle, swim, row, climb stairs, or use an elliptical to rack up as many miles as you can. You will compete against other teams for gift cards and prizes with additional prizes given at random for just participating. Challenge will take place from June 30th to August 11th.

All activities must be tracked using a wearable device, pedometer or cell phone health app.

Walking/Running will be used as the competition medium to make activities as even as possible. Running 1 mile = 2 miles cycling, .25 miles swimming, 1.25 miles rowing, 35 Flights of stairs, 1.2 miles on an elliptical

 

July 2023 Ballistic Vest Challenge

A timed challenge where you will complete a series of exercises while wearing your ballistic vest. This challenge will be performed one time in person on one of the dates listed below. Gift Cards will be awarded to the top finishers of each category with additional prizes given at random just for participating. Exercises include: Push ups, Squats, Mountain Climbers, Bear Crawls, Lunges, and Stair Climbing. For this unique challenge, you will “dial in your time”, meaning you will select the time that you think you will finish the challenge in. Your selected time will place you in a tier with others of a similar fitness level. The person who finishes closest to their estimated time will win a $250 gift card. Those who place first in their tier will win a $150 gift card.

Challenge Reps: Men: Push ups: 25, Squats: 40, Mountain Climbers: 60, Bear Crawls: 50 feet, Alternating Lunges: 20, Jumping Jacks: 40 Stair Step Machine 20 flights. Females: Push ups: 15, Squats 40, Mountain Climbers: 45, Bear Crawls: 40 feet, Lunges: 16, Jumping Jacks: 40, Stair Step Machine 16 flights

July 10th, 12th, and 14th are the days available to compete.

February 2023 Total Steps Challenge

A Visa gift card will be awarded to each winner and additional prizes will be awarded at random for completion.

February 2023 Team Weight Lifting Challenge

For this challenge, you will pick one teammate to join you and test your strength. This is a 20 minute timed challenge where you and your team will lift as much cumulative weight as possible. The challenge will consist of 6 exercises which can be performed with any weight, in any order, and as many times as the participants choose. Evaluators will add the weight lifted as each rep is performed, and both team member’s total lifted weight will be added together, at the end of the 20 minutes. The team with the most weight lifted at the end of the challenge will win. There will be a winner awarded for each of the following brackets: Male/Male, Male/Female, and Female/Female. The winners of each team bracket will win Visa gift cards and additional prizes will be given out at random for participation. The exercises that can be performed are as follows: Bench Press, Squat, Dead Lift, Bent Over Row, Military Press, and Bicep Curls. These exercises can be performed with either barbells or dumbbells, whichever the participant prefers. Each team will compete one time on one of the following dates: Feb 28th (B-Shift Off Going), March 2nd (C-Shift Off Going), or March 4th (A-Shift Off Going). The team will be timed while completing the cumulative amount of reps as listed below and run/walk the cumulative distance for each team member according to their age bracket. Each team can select the order that they complete the exercises and who does what exercise. The fastest team to complete their determined amount of distance and reps wins. Prizes will be awarded to the first place team and additional prizes will be given out randomly based on participation. The table below outlines the exercises and the amount of reps each team member is responsible for based on age and gender. Each team will compete one time and the testing dates to choose from are August 22nd, 24th, or 26th. Pick your team and get ready to compete!

A 30 day challenge where participants walk or run as many miles as possible. A winner for male and female, will be awarded to the individuals with the most total miles accumulated during the 30 day challenge.

All miles must be logged using a fitness tracking app.

A $200 gift card will be awarded to each winner!

 

February 2022 Circuit Challenge

A timed circuit completed as quickly as possible. Participants are timed while completing the following bodyweight exercises in the order of their choosing. Each participant will complete the circuit on day 1 for a baseline time, and day 30 for a final time. There will be male and female winners for both fastest time and most improved!

Push ups: Men; 40 Women; 25

Squats: Men; 50 Women; 40

Burpees: Men; 20 Women; 15

Sit Ups: Men; 40 Women; 30

Jumping Jacks: Men; 50 Women; 40

Plank: Men; 2 min Women; 1 min

1 Mile Run

April 2022 Cycling Challenge

A 30 day challenge where participants cycle as many miles as possible. This can be completed outdoors or on a stationary bike. Prizes will be awarded for each male and female who cycles the most total miles.

A $200 gift card will be awarded to each winner!

 

August 2022 Shift Challege

Beginning August 1st, this challenge gives one shift the opportunity to earn bragging rights. Using the “My Virtual Mission” app, each team consisting only of members from your shift will travel virtually to each SCCAD station (total distance _____ Miles). Each team must consist of at least 10 members and the first team to have all members complete the challenge wins. Within the app, you will track your distance as you walk, run, cycle, or exercise each day. You must have a fitness watch or wearable device to track your progress and additional instructions will be given upon registration. Encourage your shift mates and be sure to sign up by July 25th!

Prizes will be awarded to all members of the winning shift!
